Q: Do I need a new consumer unit (fuseboard)?

A: Most houses excluding new builds electrics are now fairly dated, simple rule of thumb would be to watch this video https://youtu.be/lb1q34M21e4. If your board looks anything like the ones shown then the simple answer is YES! 

 Failing that take a picture of your board and send it to our team via enquiries@nextwaveelectrical.co.uk  they will give you an answer based on what they are shown within 24 hours.

 

Q: Does my house need rewired?

A: Just because your consumer unit (fuseboard) needs changed that does not mean you need a rewire. This is best answered by having one of our Electricians come and do some testing to give you a better idea of the cable condition this can be done in our call out charge of £60. This is a quick condition test (no certification for the test will be issued) If you do require a rewire and decide we are the company for you the initial £60 will be deducted from your rewire costs. Contact our team to find out more.

 

Q: Do we install electric showers?

A: We run the circuit (wiring) to the shower switch then to the actual shower itself. We do NOT however do the plumbing side of the install unless it’s a direct replacement (like for like) in which case we will happily do the full install.

 

Q: Do we install Cookers and Cooker extraction hoods?

A: Yes we do, if extra wiring is required it will come at an extra cost but this usually can be done within the initial call out of £60( for 1 hour) excluding parts. If you are unsure contact the team and they can run through what you need.

 

Q: What about Hot Tub installs?

A: Yes, Typically when you purchase a Hot Tub the company will ask that you have the appropriate power outlet installed with an isolator switch (basically a big power switch) contact our team to get a better idea of the process and costs. NOTE: This does not apply to “lazy spas” or Plug and Play Hot Tubs they can run from a normal outdoor socket. Always check the manufacturers instructions.

 

Q: Do we install smart technology?

A: Yes, it’s your home and whatever system you use we will endeavour to point you in the right direction and keep your pad ‘smart’ if your new to smart technology and fancy learning a little about it again don’t hesitate to ask our team what is out there for you to use.

 

Q: Garden Office / Man Cave (or Girls Retreat) installs

A: Whatever your outside space is used for we can most certainly make sure you are not left in the dark out there or heaven forbid can’t charge your phone! Let us know what you need and our team will tell you what the process and costs will be.
